for prospective client to establish
type of her/his skin
Steps:
1. Clean your skin in the usual way
2. Tone and moisture as you do every day
3. After an hour, settle down with a good mirror in very
strong light - preferably sunlight and take a close look at the skin all over
your face. Note the skin around your eyes, the size of the pores, the amount
of oil-shine, the skin on your forehead, the skin on your nose. Then check to
see which category you fit into.
4. Once skin type is determined, find
the correct products to use

Normal
Skin:
- Smooth and firm to
touch
- Pores are barely noticeable,
except on the central panel, where they may be slightly larger
- Not particularly oily
or dry
- A few expression lines
around mouth, eyes, and perhaps on throat
- Skin has a slight
glow, translucence, looks healthy

Dry
Skin: This skin
type has all the characteristics of mature and some of the sensitive types
- Fine texture
- Lines around eyes,
mouth, chin
- Skin may have a taut
feeling
- Skin hardly ever breaks
out
- Skin is quite fair,
flaky, thin, not shiny
- Skin always burns
(if not protected)

Very-dry
Skin: This skin
type has all the characteristics of dry skin and some of the mature skin type.
- Dry flaky appearance
- Lines around eyes,
mouth, chin
- Pores are almost invincible
- Skin feels loose,
saggy
- Skin "drinks-up" moisture
and cream
- Skin always burns
(if not protected)
- Never has blemishes

Oily
Skin:
- Shine starts to appear
after cleansing
- Large pores, especially
around the nose, chin, forehead
- Few facial lines
- Occasional blemishes,
may have black heads or white heads
- Skin is supple, firm

Problem
Skin:
- Skin is continually
breaking out
- Blemishes and scars
- Pores are enlarged

- Skin may have a muddy,
gray appearance
- Spots seem to be slow

Skin: You must be
at least 45-50 years old
- Neck may look "creepy"
- Muscle around eye,
mouth, and beneath jaw tend to sag
- Burns easily (if not

- Texture is rough,
flaky (if not moisturized constantly)
- Deep lines around
mouth, crows-feet around eyes, puffiness above/below eyes
- Lines across forehead
- Skin has lost elasticity
